About
The Cedar Club since 1908.
The Cedar Club was established in 1908 in a Romanesque Revival mansion in Capitol Hill. The building's original 1908 occupancy permit sets an absolute ceiling of 200 persons — a constraint we have never sought to exceed. The Club is for members and their guests.
Membership
Membership is by invitation of an existing Founding Member. The membership committee meets quarterly. Events at the Club — dinners, private gatherings, boardroom meetings — are reserved for members and guests sponsored by a member in good standing.
Non-member event inquiries require a Founding Member sponsor and Board approval. This process typically takes 4–6 weeks. We recommend raising this early if your timeline is constrained.
Cedar Club Kitchens
Cedar Club Kitchens has served the Club since 2009. All food and beverage is prepared in-house — outside caterers are not permitted. Menus are seasonal and bespoke to each event; our chef works with the member host to develop the menu in advance. The 22% service charge covers all gratuities; incidentals are billed to the member's house account.
Discretion
Photography of members and the Club's dining rooms is strictly prohibited. We do not maintain a social media presence. Member names are never shared. This is not an oversight — it is the founding principle.
